Kubik creates immersive trade show exhibits, museum environments, branded spaces, and custom experiences for leading brands. We’re looking for an intermediate Metal Shop Assistant / Machinist with welding skills to support our busy metal shop and help bring complex, creative builds to life.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident working from drawings, comfortable fabricating aluminum components, and ready to contribute in a fast-paced, custom-build environment.
What You’ll Do
- Read and interpret technical drawings, measurements, and fabrication instructions.
- Measure, cut, drill, grind, shape, weld, and assemble aluminum and metal components.
- Support test fitting, final assembly, quality checks, packing, and shipping preparation.
- Contribute to fabrication take-offs, problem-solving, and practical build solutions.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe, organized shop environment.
What You Bring
- Intermediate experience in metal fabrication, machining, or a related shop environment.
- Solid welding skills; TIG welding experience is a strong asset.
- Ability to work accurately from drawings and measurements with minimal supervision.
- Confidence using common metal shop tools and equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and a practical problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to lift and handle materials in a busy production environment.
- Forklift and/or scissor lift certification is an asset.

Work Details
Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with opportunities for overtime
Work term: We’re open to full-time and freelance arrangements
Schedule: 44+ hours per week
