About the Role
Do you enjoy turning complex workloads into clear, practical plans? As Capacity and Resource Planning Manager, you will help put the right people on the right priorities at the right time—connecting design, project management, engineering, estimating, and other pre-production teams to align capacity with project demand.
This role brings together relationship-building, analytical thinking, and hands-on process improvement. Working closely with leadership and department teams, you will balance workloads, tackle bottlenecks, and introduce tools and automation that make work easier to plan, track, and deliver.
What You Will Do
Resource & Capacity Planning
- Build a clear picture of capacity, utilization, and project demand across pre-production teams.
- Work with department leaders to anticipate resource needs, spot gaps early, and navigate competing priorities.
- Lead resource planning and guide workload allocation so teams can focus their efforts where they are needed most.
Workflow & Process Optimization
- Keep work moving from project award through pre-production readiness.
- Turn bottlenecks into opportunities for improvement, making workflows more efficient, visible, and accountable.
- Bring structure and consistency to how teams plan and manage work.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Connect the right stakeholders and align departments on priorities and timelines to keep projects moving forward.
- Help teams work through resource conflicts and operational challenges with clear, constructive discussions.
- Give leadership a clear view of workload, capacity, and project health to support informed decisions.
Systems, Reporting & Automation
- Shape and continuously improve the planning, reporting, and workflow tools teams use every day.
- Translate data into insights that strengthen forecasting and resource planning.
- Find opportunities to simplify processes and automate repetitive work.
- Build dashboards and reports that turn operational data into actionable insights.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in resource planning, operations, project coordination, production planning, PMO, or a related role.
- Experience managing capacity and workloads in a project-based environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills—you can dig into the details without losing sight of the bigger picture.
- The ability to build trusted relationships and influence across departments.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Experience with project management, resource planning, ERP, or workflow management systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and reporting tools.
- A continuous improvement mindset: you enjoy creating structure, simplifying work, and building processes that scale.
